Abstract: Electronic states of quantum ring are obtained by solving precisely the energy eigen-equation and a quantum bit is formed by both the ground state and the first excited state of the electron in the quantum ring. The numerical results for InAs/GaAs quantum ring indicate that when the size of quantum ring has been determined, the probability density distribution of an electron is related to its position in the quantum ring and time, there is a maximum of probability density for the given angle and time, and the probability density distribution of electron makes periodical oscillations in time and space.
