Abstract: A method, in which the wave function is expanded with the atomic orbitals added to the electron transfer factor to correct the boundary condition, is used to study the collisions between O5+ ion and H atom. After calculating the initial channel potential energy of O5++H system, the good agreement between calculation and experiment shows that optimized calculation factors are highy reliable. The electron capture probabilities vs time in the interaction of O5+ ion with H atom (8Σ states) are calculated at an impact factor b=8.0 a.u. and an impact speed v=220.0 a.u. by using the core approximation and the optimized factors.
