Abstract: When large-diameter (100 mm) multi-level diffractive optical elements are applied to high-power laser systems in order to solve the problem of low energy efficiency, the energy efficiency can be greatly improved within uniform focal spot by reducing high diffraction orders. In this paper, we show both theoretically and experimentally that more than 90% energy can be focused into a desired spot as predicted previously by theoretical estimation.
