spectraarecausedbyGeO2 nanoparticlesembeddedingel glasses.TheGeO2 SiO2 gel glassesarecharacterizedbytheopticalabsorption,X raydiffraction (XRD)andtransmissionelectionmecroscopy.ThesizeofGeO2 nanoparticlesembeddedingelglassesbecomeslargerastheGeO2 contentincreases,andthustheopticalabsorptionedgeofthegel glassshiftstothelower energyside .TheGeO2 nanoparticlestructuresarefoundtobeamorphousGeO2 inthegel glassesbytheXRDandtheelectrondiffractionpattern .
